How Solar Line Collective collects, uses and protects your information. Last updated September 27, 2026.
Who we are
Solar Line Collective is an independent team that helps Illinois homeowners go solar. We are not the State of Illinois, Illinois Shines, ComEd or Ameren.
What we collect
When you ask us to contact you, on this website, in a Facebook or Instagram form or message, by phone or at your door, we collect what you give us:
- Your name, phone number and email address
- The home's address, whether you own it, and your approximate electric bill
- A copy of your electric bill, if you choose to upload one from your report (only our team sees it)
- Anything else you choose to tell us, such as interest in battery backup or the best time to reach you
- On calls to our business line, the details you give our automated assistant, a transcript of the call and any voicemail you leave
To prepare a report for a home we also use public information about the property: satellite roof and sunlight data, utility service area and county property records.
How we use it
- To answer your questions, prepare your home's solar report and set up an assessment
- To call, email or message you about the assessment you asked for. We only send text messages if you agreed to them, and you can reply STOP at any time
- To keep track of which team member helped you
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to decide whether you qualify for credit.
Who we share it with
- Approved Illinois Shines installation partners, when you move ahead with a design, permits and installation
- Service providers who run our tools for us, such as website and database hosting, our phone line, social media messaging, maps and satellite data, and AI transcription. They may only use it to provide their service to us
- Anyone the law requires us to share it with
How long we keep it
We keep your information while we are helping you and for a reasonable time after, so we can answer later questions. Call transcripts are deleted after 90 days. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your choices
To see, correct or delete your information, or to stop hearing from us, use the form on our website. We will do it promptly.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our team app uses one cookie to keep team members signed in. Links in our ads and posts carry tags that tell us which one you came from.
Children
Our services are for homeowners and are not directed to anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above.
